Lite Fast A-1006 is a thixotropic, UV medical adhesive designed not to flow into any unwanted areas. It is a single component UV adhesive that cures in seconds to a tough, hard polymer after exposure to UV light.
It is recommended as a UV adhesive that is an extremely fast and efficient way to precisely bond optical components or fiber optics. Thin films cure in less than 10 seconds and thick films in 20 seconds using a UV lamp whose wavelength is from 250nm to 400nm.
The adhesive is clear without yellowing and has extremely high temperature stability. To make the UV medical adhesive autoclavable, it is only necessary to heat the material to 125° C for 25 minutes for a glass to metal joining. Due to the low thermal conductivity of a glass to glass joint, a longer time will be necessary depending on the thickness of the glass to glass bond.
Due to the thixotropic nature of the Lite Fast A-1006 UV medical adhesive, its inability to move when no shear is applied even at high temperatures, is sensitive to the entire range of wavelengths from 250nm to 400nm with a peak wavelength at 365nm. Cure time is dependent on light intensity and thickness of drop applied. The UV adhesive is designed to be cured with a small hand held UV light source or LED source.
